Name: Lawrence Isaac Newton James

Family: the Newton family were from Woolsthorpe Lincolnshire. Isaac was son of Hannah Ayscough and Isaac Newton Senior.There isn't much know about Newton senior, he was a farmer in Lincolnshire and married Hannah in April 1642, he died later that year. Hannah Ayscough was born in Market Overton in Rutland in 1623 and nearly 3 months after Newton Senior's death she gave birth to Isaac. Hannah then married Barnabas Smith when Newton was 3. Barnabas and Hannah then had 3 children Mary (Born 1647), Benjamin (Born 1651) and hannah (born 1652). This was his step family. Isaac disliked his stepfather and once threaded to burn the house the family lived in. His step dad died at the age of 70 in 1653 and his mother died in 1679 at the age of 53. Catherine Barton half niece of Isaac Newton lived with Isaac at his home on St Martin's Street until she became engaged on july9 1717. Catherine was Isaac Newtons Senior's Brother's daughter, his brother's name was Robert Newton.
